Davis Stickney September 17th, 2007

DAVID HAYTER DAVID HAYTER

Don’t hate on the Hayter.

Ryson September 26th, 2007

Glad I found a site dedicated to the Metal Gear Solid movie…man I hope this turns out to be all I wish…Seeing that the Metal Gears are so cinematic it only makes sense that an action movie should be made of it.
I just hope it fills and exceeds all my expectations, and seeing that it will be a ‘Class-A’ Hollywood film, don’t quote me, I think this is gonna be a movie I’ll more than enjoy….it’s a shame they didn’t include Hayter

Dennis Falck October 23rd, 2007

Now, WOW! A MGS movie! Holy-Shit! I have to see that!
Now what about davis not being snake? then there should’nt be a movie!

John October 29th, 2007

I hope this movie actually goes through, konomi was serious, but hopefully it wont flop like the “halo” live action film, this might work, since medal ear isnt as big of a franchise. and t isnt stuck to just aliens, this takes place on earth, which makes it all more the worth while to film, it can be filmed in alaska, easy enough, wont have to have alot of CGI like halo (halo, aliens=cgi, medal gear solid, people=real. i think this will work. cant wait to see it,

it will have to appeal to everyone tho, not just us medal ear fans. there has to be some sort of altered plat, to set the tone for people who have never played the game, thats why the “ben 10″ movie is only on TV, no one watches the show, no one knows who anyone is. medal gear has to be good, it will expand the series, or if it flops, kill it.

John October 29th, 2007

sorry bout those typos in medal gear, i meant metal gear, falling asleep her, just did a 15 page research paper for bio chemistry.

jonsom November 8th, 2007

Snake rules so he is the best suka

kuyukot November 23rd, 2007

*can’t wait for the movie… hope it doesn’t suck…

Takezo Kensei January 5th, 2008

I hope they don’t ruin such a beautiful story.

Mark Lanier February 18th, 2008

I am a huge fan of MGS. I hope the movie lives up to the franchise. The movie should be nothing short then the story from beginning to end. I dont like descripencies. In all honesty, I was shamed and disgusted and felt betrayed by how the Resident Evil Movies Demolished the original story and I would hate for that to happen again to such an amazing 20 year old dedicated work which is Hideo Kojima. Please Hideo, ensure this film gets what it deserves. As well as your dedcated fans…

taylor burkhalter April 8th, 2008

will it have all the snakes or solid snake or big boss

Robert Taylor April 9th, 2008

OMG YESS!!! But if david hayter isnt playing snake then he has to have a part in the script or plot or somthing! he deffinitly has to have some conection with the way the actor playing snake acts in the movie! who knows snake better then david?

metalgearhead420 April 10th, 2008

i agree DAVID HAYTER should be snake.after all HE is the REAL soild snake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

brandon April 14th, 2008

i wonder if metal gear solid the movie is going to be more than 1 movie like the games i think they should make a movie for every game they made but then again the story line for the games are crazy it go’s mgs3 mgs2 mgs4 mgs1 or something like that but if they had a movie for evey game from metal gear to metal gear solid 4 so every 1 could understand the story lines

ElectricWestern April 16th, 2008

If they are including Big Boss, Clint Eastwood would be an interesting choice. I think Viggo Mortenson would do well as Solid Snake. Hugh Jackman could work too.

La Leyenda April 17th, 2008

hugh jackman for snake or david hayter anyone else is crap!!!!!!!

eshey April 22nd, 2008

I’m looking forward to see this movie when it’s released,( another MGS gamer/fan here :D ) first thing. although I am a bit worried about the casting of characters, and err, into what part of the game/story will it adapt? or maybe a new storyline? xD (I would probably be relaxed if the movie is going to be CGI- like the game is used to be, and besides the game is already ‘the’ movie xD )it’s up to hideo kojima. please don’t make us ’sad.’ D:

Sparky May 31st, 2008

I see a few issues though, looking back at past hollywood adaptions.
Hollywood completely changes characters to fit into their ideal movie, for example spiderman. The original spiderman wasn’t such a weak whining kid like in the movie. Something so big and the character was lost in the adaption.

With Metal Gear, we fans know everything about the story and characters, but it isn’t hugely known by non MGS fans. (Whereis Everyone sorta knew a bit about spiderman.)
So I reckon they will ‘Create’ a script to slot between MGS1 and MGS2 (Too far back and you miss out on some cool characters, too far forward and non fans won’t understand.) Alter personality traits … (I swear if Snake isn’t bad-ass in this … and If Raiden is cooler I will snap.)

I love MGS to pieces and would kill to see it as a movie, But looking back at the hollywood flops at game adaptions, I think this will be a flop (Hate to say it.) But Hayter is out, what about that deep voice that sounded so war veteran like? I wouldn’t be surprised if those hollywood jerks decided to make ocelot snake’s farther … *Shakes head at thought.*

Sorry If i offended any-one hopeing for the best, I am still hopeing too.

Spanish hola soy use the google translator for me entendais.

for the movie of Metal Gear Solid think that should take about 3 hours, with some flasbacks of outer heaven and zanzibar at times accurate and not just talk a solid feel snake if it is done I like a lot to interpret the big boss and Clint Eastwood that grey fox before the ninja be interpreted as someone like the unknown but, with solid and liquid snake snake use the same actor Hugh Jackman, for Meryl Milla Jovovich, to stir Ocelot sam elliot for other characters unknown actors who seem so say this because the trick of unknown actors was very well to the lord of the rings and metal gear also anger him well, tambeien want to put the BSO and to deepen the game much at the moment of encounter and Meryl snake, snake vs. Ocelot, vs. grey fox snake, flasbacks of outer heaven and zanzibar, torture, snake vs. metal gear and what I have more durability is solid vs. liquid snake a snake bare hands, to transmit the essence of the game.

finally I would like the Spaniards were the same voices that interpreted the voices of the game.

I want to feel again the voice of alfonso valleys.

I would like Hideo Kojima who read this and do it xD.

Jay July 9th, 2008

I would love it to be featured around naked snake (big boss) in the early days, or maybe even The boss in the earlier days :)

It will also avoid all the complications of Liquid and Big boss being clones of Solid snake.. and lets face it, MGS3 was far superior storywise :)

Hope it goes ahead and turns out a success!

Jay.

Jay July 9th, 2008

My bad, I said clones of solid snake, but obviously I meant solid and liquid being clones of big boss :s

Malice July 29th, 2008

or they could save alot of confusion and do it all in Hi res cgi, and make it look as awesome as possible and stick with the original voice’s, thus it would be alot less likely to suck…. PLEASE DONT FUCK THIS UP!!!! i beg you please do not ruin my childhood memorys with what could be a potentially horrible movie…. i love metal gear so much and i CANNOT allow it to be slandered by some glamed up hollywood bullshit story…. and for god sakes DO IT RIGHT!!!!

John August 22nd, 2008

FINALLY! After these years, a epic movie is coming out from a epic based game.

Tommy Sweeney September 3rd, 2008

XD metal gear solid i one of the best games ever!

SolidSnake September 25th, 2008

#1–Snake better be bad ass.
#2–To exclude Hayter, which has been the character, knows the character, and is the character…you guys suck balls.
#3–Raiden better still be a fag, lol, because he will NEVER be cooler than snake. Never.
#4–Best character to play snake besides David Hayter(he may not look like snake but he talks, and knows how to act like snake) would be Viggo Mortensen.

#5–To those who played MGS4…..

If you watched the interview at the beginning of the game between Hayter and that Old Chick, Hayter says he just came from the set of his movie. He was wearing f$#@ing camo and the solid eye!!! Come the f%$k on!!! Could that possible mean anything? Possible the set of MGS THE MOVIE??? Ponder on that one guys…

Imran Khan October 11th, 2008

i think they shud CGI the movie with David Hayters voice over. and of course all the other orignal voices that ever voiced in all the metal gear series. either way im not gna hate the movie bcos its like a dream come true. being a true fan of the metal gear series. i cant wait for this to come out oneday good luck.

cacman83 October 18th, 2008

Metal Gear solid was my first game for the PSX and it remains in my mined thee best game ever made for that platform bar non.

Sparky November 19th, 2008

To all those hopeing for CGI movie, it’s not going to happen. Looking at the fan made trailers I can see that it is possible to have the camera views etc possible to be true to the game. I just can’t get over Hayter not being in. If not Hayter, at least get (Forgot his name), X-man wolverine. He would suit the look of snake. I hope they don’t try to relate the movie to new world events, It would be hell to see 2 hours of snake fighting in Iraq for oil.

isela lopez February 3rd, 2009

OH MY GOD MGS IS GOING TO BE A MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can’t wait for it to come out i really wanna see snake and raiden i loooooove them both so much they’r so awsome

Ashlee March 9th, 2009

I can’t wait :D
It better be completely amazingly awesome, because this is my all time favorite game ever.
I don’t play much video games, but this series is fantastic.

Nick R. May 7th, 2009

Hopefully this movie isnt complete shit like the Max Payne flick..

Eduardo June 10th, 2009

Makers of this movie: I am trying to contact you this way because I do not know of any other. I just want to ask you, beg you in a completely respectful way to be loyal to the beautiful videogame franchise you now have in your hands. I hold little hope that you will ever read this, but if you do i trust that you realize the complexity of the caracters, the story, the emotions behind them, the irony, the humor, the themes as potent as war, love, life, death, politics and nuclear holocaust and that you deliver them just as they already have been. The reason of why adaptations such as The Lord of the Rings work so well is simply because they stick to the original story and because the makers have an impressive respect and love for what they are adapting, staying truthfull to the game/book/comic etc. Of course I understand that a movie cannot be too long and that it has to have a rythm, and that not everything can be included, but cutting out what does not work for a film does not in any way mean that you change the story. I do not know what you are planning to do, but whatever it is, as long as you stay true to the themes and more importanly to the caracters im sure you will have a lot more then just a blockbuster, you could have something to me remebered for, just as many other movie makers have done in the past.

I trust Metal Gear to you and know that it will live up to everything the game does. I wish you good luck and hope that you will have fun making this movie which we all await.

Respectfuly and sincerely.

Eduardo Iñigo Rodríguez

jack July 10th, 2009

I would like to see it, but i cannot imagine anything to put into it. they’re currently making to new games, so maybe that will open up new doors for the story line to go somewhere for a movie. but if the new games close off story lines(like how come that happend, or that still hasn’t been answered) then i dont want a movie, i think it will completely destroy the games and thier story thats been 21 years in the making. Konami will loose so many fans, and the movie would cost them millions. what im saying is, if the next games leave questions, then maybe a movie would be a good idea, but if the new games answer the remaining questions after the 4th game(i can’t think of any) then the movies a bad idea.

Eaglestaff August 3rd, 2009

Michael Biehn as Snake! He was technically the first solid snake before davis Hayter. Int he 1984 NES release of Metal Gear a picture of him from his role As Kyle Reese in the first terminator film was used for the cover art as Solid Snake.

cory August 18th, 2009

for the love of God do not cast Christian Bale as snake his retarded voice and his “acting” have ruined Batman and Terminator for me. If you use him people will laugh at this movie. Hugh Jackman would be good.

Ro September 8th, 2009

If Revolver Ocelot is featured in the film, my pick is and always will be Sam Elliot (look him up). It’s too bad Richard Crenna passed away too, he’d be the perfect Colonel Campbell.

Kurt Russell and Michael Biehn have always been my personal picks for a live-action Solid Snake, but they’re really getting up there in age.

Anyone actually ever LOOK at a David Hayter? He IS Solid Snake, he could play the live role no sweat!

And if not, I guess Hugh Jackman is gruff enough for the role. I can see Viggo Mortensen as Snake. Is it me or does he always look sad (lack of prominent eyebrows, haha)?

Now if Christian Bale gets the part, I say we riot! No doubt he’ll speak is his goofy, grumbly Batman voice.
